Less Than a Week Left to Comment On Horizon 2040


This is your warning that you have a little less than a week left to submit any thoughts or comments on the Horizon 2040 plan.

Horizon 2040 is a long-term, multimodal “blueprint” for transportation aimed at meeting the mobility needs of the area through the year 2040. It is based on projections for growth in population, housing and jobs and takes into consideration every mode of transportation, such as private vehicles, public transit, bicycling, walking, freight movement, rail and air travel.
 
The public comment period for the plan runs through November 16. After that, the plan goes to our Board for approval/acceptance in early December. In the meantime, watching the video below is a good way to get up to speed on the plan and what's included in it. SRTC is the federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Spokane County. Urbanized areas with populations exceeding 50,000 people are required to have an MPO. SRTC was formed to address the county's transportation planning needs.
