Spokane Valley Senator Honored With Highway Traffic Safety Award

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration this week recognized  state Sen. Mike Padden from Spokane Valley recently with its highest public-service award for his work to end alcohol-related collisions and DUI.

Padden spearheaded the 2013 drive to strengthen Washington’s laws against driving under the influence and has made other anti-drunk driving contributions as well.

SRTC is the federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Spokane County. Urbanized areas with populations exceeding 50,000 people are required to have an MPO. SRTC was formed to address the county's transportation planning needs.
