SRTC Board Meeting This Thursday

The final meeting of the SRTC Board for 2016 is this Thursday, Dec. 8. The meeting agenda is here.  Everyone is welcome at all SRTC Board meetings so if something grabs your attention, feel free to attend. If you do come to this meeting, be aware that it starts with an executive session to appoint a new interim director for SRTC, which isn't open to the public and could take a while. So, while the meeting officially starts at 1 p.m. it could be later when the other agenda items start.

SRTC Board Meeting Next Thursday, Nov. 10

Got plans next Thursday afternoon? No? Cool, come to our very exciting Board meeting. The SRTC The agenda is here. 

Immediately prior to the meeting is a Board workshop to set funding levels for the update to Horizon 2040, the region's long -range transportation program, that staff has started work on. As at all of our committee meetings, members of the public are welcome to attend both sessions. There will be no opportunity to comment at the workshop though.

SRTC Board Meeting Next Thursday, Oct. 13

It's time for an SRTC Board meeting again. The Board will meet for their regularly-scheduled monthly meeting on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m. at the SRTC office, 421 W. Riverside, suite 500 (the Paulsen Building).

SRTC Board Meeting This Thursday

The monthly meeting of the SRTC Board is this Thursday, Sept. 8 at 1 p.m. at 421 W. Riverside, Suite 500. The agenda is here. All SRTC Board meetings are open to the public so if something on the agenda is interesting to you, feel free to attend. Items for discussion this month include updates to the regional travel model and regional population and employment forecasts.

Summer Committee Meeting Schedule

Summer at SRTC always means changes to our schedule of committee meetings. We like to give committee members a break when we can so here is what the schedule looks like for the next couple months. Everything gets back to normal in September:

• There WILL be a Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) meeting on Monday, July 25. The agenda can be found here. This could be a really interesting one if you are interested in how construction projects happen, from beginning to end. Guest speakers from partner agencies will explain the process, and the timeline.
• TTC meeting scheduled for July 27 has been canceled
• The Board meeting scheduled for August 11 has been cancelled

Next SRTC Board Meeting Thursday, May 12

The next meeting of SRTC's Board is next Thursday, May 12 at 1 p.m. at SRTC's new office; 421 W. Riverside Ave., Suite 500. The meeting agenda is here. A notable item of interest is a presentation by Washington State Department of Transportation staff on the latest on the North Spokane Corridor.

Everyone is welcome at all SRTC Board and advisory committee meetings so feel free to attend if something catches your attention.

SRTC Board Meeting This Thursday

The March meeting of the SRTC Board is this Thursday, March 10 at 1 p.m. at the SRTC office at 221 W. 1st Ave., Suite 310. The agenda can be found here. Everyone is welcome at all SRTC committee meetings so feel free to attend if anything on the agenda catches your attention.

An early heads up- the April Board meeting has been cancelled due to a scheduling conflict. And the May meeting will be held at our new office in the Paulsen Center. More information will be provided as that comes closer.

SRTC Board/Committee Meeting Changes

There are a couple changes in the works you may want to know about for next month. SRTC is moving to our new office at the Paulsen Center in approximately 30 days. We have already packed up the majority of our office and only left out of the packing boxes those things we use on an everyday basis.

We will still be in this building in early March and will hold the regularly scheduled Board meeting here. The April 14 Board meeting has been cancelled due to a scheduling conflict though.

We will be in the moving process in late March and are relocating our committee meetings as a result. The March Transportation Technical Committee (TTC) meeting schedule for 1:30 p.m. on March 23 will be held at the Spokane Regional Health District in room 140. The Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) will be held at 3 p.m. on March 28 at Spokane City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd., in conference room 3B.

We will continue to put out reminders as these dates draw closer.

SRTC Board Meeting February 11

The February SRTC Board meeting is next Thursday, February 11 at 1 p.m. here at SRTC. The agenda is here.

I would say the major item on it is the FTA/FHA Federal Certification Review. We go through these reviews every four years to make sure we are in compliance with state and federal regulations and that we're doing the duties required of a Metropolitan Planning Organization and Regional Planning Organization (SRTC is an MPO at the federal level and RTPO at the state level).

Four years ago when we went through this process, we didn't do so hot. We had 12 "corrective actions." The results from our 2015 review? Not a single corrective action. Some representatives from the Federal Transit Administration and the Federal Highways Administration will be at the Board meeting to discuss the review so feel free to attend if interested. SRTC Board meetings are always open to members of the public.

SRTC Board Meeting Agenda Revised

We had a slight revision to the agenda for this Thursday's SRTC Board meeting. On the attached agenda, item 59(d), Approval of TTC Chair Heleen Dewey, Spokane Regional Health District and approval of 2016 TAC Chair Kitty Klitzke, was added.

So now you know. The Board meeting is at 1 p.m. here at SRTC, 221 W. 1st Ave., Suite 310. Everyone is welcome to attend, as always.

SRTC Board Meeting Thursday, January 14

The SRTC Board will have it's first meeting of 2016 next Thursday, January 14. On the agenda: the Washington State Department of Transportation's Connecting Washington Program, appointment of Transportation Advisory Committee alternates, approval of the Transportation Improvement Program Guidebook, and tracking of the projects included in the Transportation Improvement Program. If anything catches your eye, feel free to attend the meeting. All SRTC Board and committee meetings are open to the public. 

Committee Meeting Schedules for 2016

The final meeting of the year for the Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) is next Monday, Dec. 14. The agenda for the meeting is here. Everyone is welcome at all SRTC committee meetings so feel free to attend if anything on the agenda catches your eye.

Starting in 2016, there will be some changes to the TAC schedule. The group will meet at the same time (3 p.m. the fourth Monday of the month) but only every other month, starting in January. This is because staff in 2016 will be devoting a large amount of time to data gathering behind the scenes and there will not be as big of a need for policy advisory actions. With that said though, special meetings in off months can be called as needed.

Final 2015 SRTC Board Meeting on Dec. 10

The final SRTC Board meeting of the year is next Thursday, December 10 at 1 p.m. A few items on
the agenda: disposition of depreciated assets (how to get rid of a bunch of stuff around the office we don't need anymore), appointment of new Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) members, recognizing members who are leaving the Board and a discuss of the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Guidebook. That last item should be a very interesting discussion as SRTC is proposing some policies to ensure that all the federal funds that come into our area get spend every year. It's harder than it sounds to actually make that happen because of all the boxes that require checking before money can actually be spent.

So if any of those items sound interesting to you, feel free to attend the meeting. The agenda is here. 

SRTC Board Meeting Start Time Changed For Oct. 8

A change to this month's (October's) SRTC Board meeting. The meeting will be the same day as normal, the second Thursday of the month, which is October 8. But the time is being pushed back by one hour. The meeting will start at 2 p.m. as several Board members are attending another event that runs at the same time.

SRTC Board Meeting and Retreat Next Week

We're doing something a little different next week for our monthly SRTC Board meeting.

Instead of meeting here at the SRTC offices, the meeting will be held offsite at 12 p.m. on June 11, 2015 at the Enduris Training Center, 1610 S. Technology Rd. Ste. 100 in Airway Heights, WA.

The meeting will be short (approximately 30 minutes), immediately followed by a Board retreat at approximately 12:30 p.m. on the topic "SRTC in the Future."
