Deadly Crashes Drop To 50 Year Low

Deadly crashes on Washington roads are at their lowest level in more than 50 years, state officials said Tuesday.

Early numbers show 522 traffic-related deaths last year – the lowest amount since 1955, when 461 people died.

SRTC is the federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Spokane County. Urbanized areas with populations exceeding 50,000 people are required to have an MPO. SRTC was formed to address the county's transportation planning needs.
