Electric Vehicle Owners Say They're Being Singled Out
Drivers of electric vehicles in Washington say they're being unfairly singled out by a proposed $100 annual state fee for their cars.
I agree with most of the comments, electric vehicles need to pay for the repair and maintenance of the roads, so what is their fair share? So much a mile or a flat rate each year? I don't think bicycles do much damage to roads so I really do not think they should be taxed for road repairs.
Hey Charles, I agree with you on electric cars, and I suspect that congress will be imposing -- or least discussing the merits of -- a fee for the number of vehicle miles traveled instead of the gas tax... as for taxing bikes?
Well, my BBQ trailer does very little damage to the transporation infrastructure because I only pull it a dozen times a year, but I still pay registration fees...
