Council Approves Trolley As Preferred Alternative
Spokane's City Council last night voted to approve the recommendation of an electric trolley system through the downtown area, but that doesn't mean it's a done deal. The decision means that’s the system that will be pursued in the coming years, but it would still need voter approval for local taxes needed to pay for the approximately $36 million system. The Spokesman-Review has details on when a vote would take place and where the trolley would run.
I had picked the Trolleys months ago, and all I did was to attend the open houses, but now the fun part starts, where for sure to run the Trolly? And where will the money to build it come from?
ReplyDeleteYeah, the 'fun' part. It will be interesting to see how people will receive it when it goes to a vote. Maybe the economy will be better in 2013 but some people are predicting it will be a tough sell if it's not better and folks are still feeling the pinch.
