Group Recommends Distracted Walking Legislation

Is distracted walking the new distracted driving? That's what a new report claims- that distracted walking is just as dangerous as distracted or drunk driving and that laws against it should be enacted. "Distracting" behavior such as talking on the phone, texting and listening to music on headphones is on the rise apparently and is a common way pedestrian get hurt. Examiner.com has the story.

SRTC is the federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Spokane County. Urbanized areas with populations exceeding 50,000 people are required to have an MPO. SRTC was formed to address the county's transportation planning needs.
