"Then and Now" Photos of Spokane International Airport
The
"Then and Now" pictures of Spokane International Airport in today's Spokesman-Review are pretty cool. You can see the "futuristic" design in the first picture, then how the airport has been added onto many times since it opened in 1965 in the "now" picture. Another cool thing, at least one of the architects behind the design, Warren Heylman, is still working today, 51 years later. Photos courtesy of the Spokesman-Review.
About SRTC
SRTC is the federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Spokane County. Urbanized areas with populations exceeding 50,000 people are required to have an MPO. SRTC was formed to address the county's transportation planning needs. It provides coordination in planning between the public, cities, small towns, the county, the state, transit providers, and tribes.
SRTC offers services including transportation monitoring, transportation modeling, census information analysis, travel demand forecasting, historical traffic count analysis, geographic information systems, and trip generation rates.
