WSDOT to start construction of railroad tunnel for NSC

KREM 2 News reported this morning that Washington State Department of Transportation is ready to begin construction of a 1,500-foot tunnel under a portion of the North South Corridor(NSC). SRTC is the federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Spokane County. Urbanized areas with populations exceeding 50,000 people are required to have an MPO. SRTC was formed to address the county's transportation planning needs.
