Existing Versus Proposed Crosswalk Ordinance

I just received a reminder email that the hearing on the proposed City of Spokane crosswalk ordinance is tonight. If you have an interest in crosswalks and pedestrian facilities for our community, you may want to consider being there to support it. The hearing takes place during the City Council meeting that starts at 6 p.m. in the lower level of City Hall.

Check out the new ordinance versus the old. Wow, there's quite a difference in detail.

Here's the current Municipal Code item addressing crosswalks.

And here's the proposed one.

Quite a difference huh? Like I said, you may want to show your support tonight if you can.
