Statewide Bicycle and Pedestrian Counts will be taking place next week (Oct. 5,6 & 7) and volunteers are needed to count bicyclists and pedestrians in our area.
The Cascade Bicycle Club is in charge of these counts. If you're interested in volunteering or looking at count locations, here's a link to the club's website to do so.

About SRTC
SRTC is the federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Spokane County. Urbanized areas with populations exceeding 50,000 people are required to have an MPO. SRTC was formed to address the county's transportation planning needs. It provides coordination in planning between the public, cities, small towns, the county, the state, transit providers, and tribes.

Thanks for posting that link! I'm going to volunteer. With all the construction going on, it will be interesting to see how many bicyclists and pedestrians will travel through the Howard and Second Ave intersection.
That will be interesting. Get back on here and let us know how you're counting went. I'm curious to see how the numbers have changed since the last count.
