Appleway Construction Starts Today

A big project gets underway in Spokane Valley today that will stretch all the way into October. Works starts to resurface Appleway from Thierman to Park. Improvements include ADA upgrades and relocation of sidewalks and swales along the east end of the project area. Of course this means there will be some lane closures and other possible delays. The Spokane Valley Herald has the details.

SRTC is the federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Spokane County. Urbanized areas with populations exceeding 50,000 people are required to have an MPO. SRTC was formed to address the county's transportation planning needs. It provides coordination in planning between the public, cities, small towns, the county, the state, transit providers, and tribes.
