You don't have to fly first class out of Frankfurt, Germany's airport to get preferred parking. You just have to be a woman. According to the "The Local" website, the airport is billing their special 'ladies parking' area has having bigger and nicer spaces and being closer to the terminals.
But not everyone is happy about this special treatment. A debate is underway because some women's groups say it's sexist and reinforces the stereotype that women are poor parkers needing larger spaces.
The idea of women-only parking places started in Germany in the 1990s, because women
feared sexual assault in underground parking lots. And there's nothing in the German traffic code that prevents men from using these spaces too.
