STA Asks For Opinions On Proposed Service Changes

As I blogged about earlier this week, Spokane Transit unveiled their latest round of proposed service cuts recently for 2011. The cuts include modifying some routes such as Northwest Boulevard and Maple/Ash and discontinuing several routes such as Francis, Garland, Latah, and Medical Lake/Geiger and consolidating others such as the 72 Liberty Lake with the 74.

Here's a list of all the proposed changes and the reasoning behind them.

STA wants to know what your thoughts are on these changes. Please weigh in by taking this survey.

Interesting survey. Remember these changes are for SEPTEMBER 2011 almost a year away. Looks like I will have another bus within walking distance of my house and no further cuts (had several in 2010). I guess living in an area with a lot of bus riders helps as all the routes near me are fairly busy all day.

I too thought it was an interesting survey. Especially because one of the answer options to the question "How would you change these proposed service cuts?" was something like "Cut a different bus route rather than mine." It's cutthroat out there folks. There are a bunch of angry old ladies on my route that are getting their pitch forks sharpened.
