Denmark Encourages Hitchhiking- On the Back of Bikes
Hitchhiking may be discouraged in the U.S., but it's encouraged in Denmark. If it's on the back of a bike, that is. The Dutch Cyclists’ Union has designated public hitchhiking spots for bicycle riders in the city of Utrecht.
People who want to get a lift on the back of a bike stand close to the signs and use the international sign for needing a ride with their thumb. And apparently it's working; lots of people are allegedly getting rides all over the city on the back of bikes.

SRTC is the federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Spokane County. Urbanized areas with populations exceeding 50,000 people are required to have an MPO.
