Road Construction Update for Next Week

WSDOT

I-90/SR 290-Hamilton Interchange- On Thursday evening, August 1, from 7 p.m. to as late as 6 a.m. the following morning, the I-90 westbound off-ramp to SR 290/Hamilton St. will be closed for striping.  On Friday, August 2, between 7 p.m. to as late as 6 a.m. the following morning, the on-ramp off 2nd Ave. to SR 290/Hamilton St. will be closed.  This work  requires dry weather. 
US 2/Farwell Rd. to Deer Rd.- Monday through Wednesday, August 5-7, from about 7 p.m. until as late as 6 a.m. the following morning, US 2 will be reduced to one lane in each direction for striping.

US 2/SR 206-Mt. Spokane Park Drive Intersection- Through Friday, August 2, between the hours of 7 p.m. to as late as 6 a.m., be alert for lane restrictions for striping.

SR 27/32nd Ave. to Trent Ave.- Be alert for lane restrictions between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.  Grinding operations and traffic loop installation is underway. Paving on Pines starts Monday, Aug. 5. Work on the I-90 Interchange bridge deck is expected to be underway, Aug. 5-9 during evening and overnight hours.

SR 291/Division Street to the Stevens County Line- Lane restrictions between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.  Grinding and/or paving work is underway at multiple locations between Rutter Parkway and Division St.  All major roadwork on this project will be underway during evening and overnight hours.  Utility cover work is also underway.  No major daytime restrictions planned. 
North Spokane Corridor/Wandermere Bridges & US 2 Flyover Bridge- Monday through Thursday, August 5-8, be alert for intermittent lane restrictions while crews inspect the bridge.

North Spokane Corridor/Francis Avenue Bridge and Intersection Improvements- Left turn movements at the Market/Francis intersection are not allowed.  Congestion and long delays near the Francis Avenue/Market Street intersection and the Francis Ave./Freya Street intersection, especially during the morning and afternoon commute hours. 

I-90/Division Street to Liberty Park- Lane restrictions on I-90, both eastbound and westbound, in downtown Spokane, during evening and overnight hours, Monday through Wednesday, August 5-7.  There will be intermittent shoulder closures on I-90 between Division and Hamilton during daytime hours. Crews will replace conduit, poles, wiring, and light fixtures including installing luminaires on I-90 from Latah Creek to the Hamilton Interchange.

I-90/Geiger Blvd. to Argonne road- Intermittent eastbound and/or westbound shoulder closures, right-lane restrictions, on/off ramp lane narrowing for landscaping maintenance.

US 195/Cheney-Spokane Road Interchange- Northbound US 195 is reduced to one lane in the vicinity of Cheney-Spokane Road.  Northbound drivers need to use Qualchan Road to access Cheney-Spokane Road.  Northbound drivers should be alert for possible congestion and slowing traffic.  The southbound off ramp to Cheney-Spokane Road is now closed so drivers will need to be alert for southbound highway traffic slowing to make right turns into Cheney-Spokane Road. This is a long-term construction configuration. 
 
SR 290-Trent Avenue- On Wednesday, august 7, drivers should be alert for lane closures on the Spokane River Bridge east of Hamilton Street for a routine bridge inspection.

SPOKANE VALLEY
 
Conklin between Valleyway and Broadway- Closed from 7 am Monday, August 5 through Friday, August 9 for utility work. Signs will redirect traffic via Moore road.
SPOKANE CITY

Spokane Falls Boulevard from Stevens to Post- Closed for the "Color Run" Sunday, Aug. 4. Road Closures will begin at 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

o   Riverside westbound from Monroe to Madison
o   Riverside westbound from Maple Bridge On-Ramp
o   Riverside eastbound from Maple to Walnut
o   Main from Post to Wall
o  Monroe and Post Street Bridges will be closed

Wall between Main and Spokane Falls Boulevard- Closed from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to celebrate National Night Out .

Maple Street Bridge- Crews will work on Maple Street Bridge starting Tuesday, August 6, for pier repair.  Lane closures will occur northbound beginning at 7a.m.  and  southbound beginning at 9 a.m.

Post Street from Spokane Falls Blvd to Bridge Rd- Closed so Avista can install a waterline extension in the roadway on Post Street for a new fire hydrant, Monday, August 5 to Wednesday, August 7, 2013. Post will close Monday morning at 5 a.m. and reopen Wednesday evening at 6 p.m.

Third Ave. from Division to Arthur- Work to rehabilitate Third Avenue from Division east to Arthur is continuing. Arthur will be closed, Monday August 5. Sherman is the detour route. The project also includes replacing a 12-inch water main. One lane of traffic remains open. Work will continue into October.
Browne Street Lane Restriction-  One southbound lane closed at 10 Browne St. between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, August 5, 2013 for private utility work. 
 
Sprague Ave. Lane Restrictions-  Two westbound lanes closed at west 333 Sprague Avenue starting Saturday, August 3, 2013 and continuing into Sunday, August 4 for private sewer work. Sprague will be closed completely at times between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The detour route will be directed to Riverside Ave.

Community Development Sidewalk Project- The city-wide construction of concrete curb and sidewalk project is beginning in the Nevada-Lidgerwood community, Hillyard neighborhood, and then Logan neighborhood. Single lane closures may occur for short periods of time.

25th Ave. Construction- Work on 25thAvenue from Freya Street to Rebecca Street continues for paving and curb repair; and sidewalk and swale installation.
 
14th Ave. from Lincoln to Grand- The project will rehabilitate 14th Avenue from Lincoln to Grand Boulevard.
 
Rockwood Blvd. Rehabilitation- A project to rehabilitate Rockwood Boulevard from Cowley to Southeast Boulevard and Upper Terrace Road from Rockwood Boulevard to 17th Avenue continues. Base lift paving on Phase 1 is expected to be completed by the end of next week. Installation of catch basins has started on Phase 2 between Garfield and Cowley. Traffic restrictions apply in those areas. Phase 1work continues on Rockwood from Southeast Blvd to Garfield and on Upper Terrace Road. Those sections are closed to through traffic; local access will be maintained.
 
Springfield Lift Station- Traffic is closed on Springfield between Columbus and Superior. North bound traffic on Columbus continues north to Cataldo. South bound on Superior is also directed to Cataldo.
