Electric Vehicle Charging Station Unveiling

Nothing to do tomorrow morning? Join Spokane City Mayor Mary Verner and Avista representatives at an unveiling ceremony for a new electric vehicle charging station. The ceremony is at 11 a.m. in the parking lot just to the north of Spokane City Hall at 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.

Just last night I saw an electric vehicle charging station outside of the Steam Plant Grill. My initial excitement was a bit diminished when I realized that the vehicle parked in front of it was using as an ordinary parking space rather than for charging the battery.

Shouldn't these stations be marked "for electric vehicle charging only?" Maybe that will come as demand for the stations grows...

Do you know how many electric vehicle charging stations there are in the Spokane area?

I don't know how many electric vehicle charging stations there are in the area, but I do know that STCU in Liberty Lake has one (and it IS posted electric vehicles only) and supposedly all Panda Express restaurants have them too. There is also a website that was in development last time I checked it that reported how many charging stations each county had. When I last looked at it (about 6 months ago) it only had info for Thurston County. I can't remember what the website was so I'll dig around and see if I can find it again.
