Many Designated Drivers Aren't Exactly Abstaining

So what exactly is it about being a designated driver that you don't understand? Apparently it's the not drinking part, according to a new study that says about one-third of DDs have at least one drink while serving as driver and many have several more.

The Washington Post's "Wonk Blog" has some scary numbers on who's drinking when they aren't supposed to be.

SRTC is the federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Spokane County. Urbanized areas with populations exceeding 50,000 people are required to have an MPO.
