Study Says Bike Lanes Don't Reduce Severity of Bike/Car Crashes

What's the most important factor in reducing the severity of injuries in vehicle versus bicyclist crashes? A University at Buffalo studysays it's not dedicated bike lanes.
The study looked at whether cyclists injured in accidents while riding in bike lanes had less severe injuries than those riding in the same lanes as cars. Previous research has shown that bike lanes do reduce the number of bike-motor vehicle accidents that occur.

So what factors did make the biggest difference when it comes to safety?
KREM.com has the answer.
